Heswall Police Station
DV8 have been appointed by brewer and pub retailer Hyde’s Brewery to transform Wirral’s historical landmark former Police Station on Telegraph Road in Heswall into a new Hyde’s premium dining and social destination. Renowned as an architectural jewel, Heswall Police Station was originally designed by local architect Harry Beswick, built in 1911 from red brick with sandstone and regional detailing including the county flag of Cheshire corn sheafs at the centre of the County Constabulary plaque.
This iconic building that has been empty for many years, will have a sympathetic and complimentary renovation programme, retaining many of the original features, with design enhancements and touches reflecting the station’s history.
Part of the DV8 programme will be to extend the building to create new dining zones, including outside dining with the addition of a welcoming sun facing terrace and the provision of car parking, resulting in a positive contribution to the street scene, and vibrancy of the town centre.
