Appointed by brewer and pub retailer Hyde’s Brewery to transform Wirral’s historical landmark former Police Station on Telegraph Road in Heswall into a new Hyde’s premium dining and social destination. Renowned as an architectural jewel, Heswall Police Station was originally designed by local architect Harry Beswick, built in 1911 from red brick with sandstone and regional detailing including the county flag of Cheshire corn sheafs at the centre of the County Constabulary plaque. This iconic building will benefit from a sympathetic renovation programme, retaining many of the original features with design enhancements and touches recognising the station’s history. The programme will include extending and creating dining zones, featuring outside dining, resulting in a positive contribution to the street scene and vibrancy of the town.
