THE JOHN MILLINGTON

Appointed once again by Hydes, this time for the renowned John Millington eatery and drinking establishment in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. The project brief was a sympathetic refurbishment to this much loved Grade II Listed Public House, with additional enhancements to the original features resulting in enhanced beautiful spaces which ensured the community and local history feel would still shine though.

Design objectives included spatial rationalisation solutions for multifunctional zones, internal and external traditional design influence with colours, florals and William Morris styling adopted to create a soft and classic feel. The design of a new Bar Back created the showstopper on entrance line of sight as well as improving product displays for improved sales.

Classic & ornate decorative lighting installations provided a warm glow, complemented by historical artwork & subtle planting to soften the bar & dining areas, all with a heavy focus on local history as a nod to the building’s history & importance within the local area.
